Gin In My Apron Pocket: The Launch

I've been thinking about the whole renaming of the Future MILF group nonstop and here's where I'm at. There are quite a few of my beloved bloggers out there already doing some cool weight loss clubs. Project Thindown, My Life on 20 Points a Day, etc. And, when we were doing the Future MILF thing before it seemed like there were things other than weight loss that I was doing in the name of betterment. From switching up my meds to coming to terms with the shame in my life.

So what I would like to do is launch a new group that focuses on working on your sanity, your life and your looks. If you want to join you can still belong to any other weight loss group, schizophrenic support group, Botox club that you like. This group just says "I'm working on me, and I may occasionally need some mind altering substances to help me do it." So I present... Gin In My Apron Pocket.

Our grandmothers had gin in their apron pocket and we've got prescriptions and blogging to keep us sane. Post once a week on what you're doing to improve yourself and let go of the things that are weighing you down. It can be weight loss, wrinkles, self esteem - anything you like as long as it's about bettering yourself and getting/staying happy.

Post any day you like - just put Gin In My Apron Pocket somewhere in your title or tags so we can find out how you're doing when we come visit you. Write about what you're working on to help yourself. And don't bogart the gin! Share your booze and advice with your other apron stuffers.

And because one of the items rattling around in my apron pocket are ADD meds I'm starting the group sign up now rather than trying to weed through our current Future MILF list. So just tell me you're in by leaving in a comment in this or any of the Gin posts and I will put you on the blogroll. Grab the Gin image above if you like. Just right click on it and "Save As" so you can post it on your blog or wallpaper.

And to all the former Future MILF'ers. I'm so proud of you all! And thank you for getting me this far. (35 pounds down and much happier) I couldn't have done it without you and I hope you'll join me in this new incarnation. It wouldn't be the same without you. Let's keep on keeping on together.

Love the new team concept and graphic. You can certainly count me among your supporters, though I may not blog as often as I want/should. To the credit of the Future MILFs I am in a much different place than I was last year, and I don't plan to stop now.

LOVE the concept, as always, love your graphic!!! Where do you find these images? Do you make them? I'm in!!! While trying to be a MILF I've stalled my weight loss progress while working on other things.... maybe if I focus on the gin more I'll lose more weight! Keep up the good work -- you DO inspire me!!!

Does this membership come with free booze? I could use some:) If only I wasn't to fat to fit into apron....

Lotta said...

Yea it won't just be and Jake and Allie's mom!

Jamie - We could def. work out a gin swap.

I'll update the blog roll first thing in the AM!

Lotta said...

Grim - I found the image on Google Images by searching "Vintage Apron Pattern". Then I put in "Vintage Gin Bottle" and photoshopped it all together.

Thanks!

I love the idea of Gin in my Apron Pocket! My boyfriend already calls me a MILF so I suppose I ought to prove him right! I think the support of other MILFs would be great in my getting-in-shape endeavor. Count me in!

Hi Girls. I already have gin in m apron pocket with other sordid things so I may as well join the group if you're still accepting new ladies. May I join you? You sound like a fun group and I could use it these days! I am trying to sort my life out and make it more about making a difference and deriving enjoyment rather than living the fast paced crazy life I feel too many of us are living today, missing out on the day to day which in the end is really when life happens.
Let me in! You've got the fun and I've got the Gin!!
Love, LD

I need help, count me in! Can I keep wine in my pocket? Gin makes me gag.

Sometimes I stumble onto a blog like this one and it feels like home (except the blog is cleaner and more organized.) I know I'll be back.

I'd like my gin with a hint if Vermouth and plenty of olive juice. Oh, and some moderate tranquilizers and a bong hit. Thanks!

Sweet. Count me in, but I am still gonna keep my MILF logo up on my blog. So there.

I like this much better than the image of the chubby girl in her chubby outfit.

I love gin! The thought of gin makes me much happier than the thought of a chubby adolescent.....

I'm in. Now I just have to figure out how to get the gin image on my blog. I'm new to the blog thing. I know how to add my own pictures but not anything from the web.

I wish I COULD have some gin, but I'm still nursing. I thought nursing was supposed to melt off the pregnancy pounds, but it hasn't. Guess my chocolate addiction doesn't help.

My goal was to be at pre-baby (number 1) weight by the second baby's 1st birthday, but he's already 9 months old!

Is there HTML code so that if someone clicks on the image on my blog, it's directed to your site?

I'm in, although the bottle in my pocket is Vodka, not gin : )

You have perfect timing! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I'm in! I have been looking at 2008 as a general "self improvement" year anyway. I just turned 30, and really want to make my 30's better than my 20's.

Thanks! - Pele

Thrilled you are all joining up! I'll try to post a good "HOW TO" for adding the graphic soon. And my next and first official Gin post will be on Monday after the WW weigh in.

I've got the blogroll updated thus far except for Elle. I can't figure out which link to use in your profile. They all look like shops.

Can I join? I've kind of given up hope of losing weight (I eat candy like it's my Prozac) but I couldn't definitely use some self-improvment. And gin. :)

I accidentally ran across this group as I was typing my post today. It fits the category... for the most part. So, I'm in. I'm totally in.

For me, it's about sanity and fixing my issues like being a bad friend. And a lot more...

Lotta said...

I think I've caught up and added everyone. If I left you off please email me!

Angel - your profile gave me an error when I tried to link to your blog. What is it?

Thanks!

Allrighty then, I'm in. My biggest thing to overcome is losing this stupid baby weight (weight is stupid, baby appears to be of average-high intelligence) and having energy, and I posted about my newest energy-addiction thing and for the record, that graphic is adorable.

OK, I keep meaning to post a comment here and join!! So here I am, committing myself to try to lose the rest of this weight already! I am down 20 pounds, but need an extra push, so sign me up! By the way, you seriously crack me up with your blog. :) Love it!!!
