Next time I make her something I'm going to, um, measure before I cut. I totally free handed this little top by putting one of her tee shirts (that's right a streeetchy tee) on top of the fabric and cutting an approximate a line shape around it. So after it was hemmed and ready to join I realized I would have to add in some side panels to make it fit. Basically, it looks good from far away but if any of the amazing crafters that come by peeked inside they might get lightheaded at the randomness of it all.
But I love the buttons I glued together. And the sweet pocket is from some Japanese scraps I begged an Etsy seller to let me buy off her. I also just got a vintage pinafore pattern (from eBay, where else?) in the mail the other day. So I'm going to attempt to make a shirt from an actual pattern now.
God, aren't ADD meds fun. Before I wouldn't have been able to sew on a button without stopping to turn on the TV, grab a pop, make a phone call...and oh yea what was I just doing?

I love it! I love how you made the buttons and even the side panels....... it think it truly adds cuteness to it.
And no pattern? You're braver than me! Awesome.... you should be quite proud!
Very Cute!
Too cute! You should make and sell them!
I wish I had time to sew (or scrapbook, or SLEEP)!
I bet she LOVES it.
That shirt is too cute. And the girl is even cuter. I love those buttons.
I wonder what I could do if I took some meds. I fear they would have the opposite effect. I would be found laying in the woods naked asking for the furry bunny to take me away.
All - Thanks!!!
G-man - She does. She says, "For me? Mommy made it for me?!"
Wendy - That happens sometimes too, but it's not all bad.
That is so beyond cute!!!
You're really talented!!
I can't make ANYTHING. I have patches for my work uniforms and I am so bad I have to have my husband sew them on!!!
